Angie Goeke is an Austin-native singer-songwriter whose love for Ella Fitzgerald and Willie Nelson seeps into every one of her unique melodies and real-life lyrics. Not to be underestimated by the ukulele she wields, she delivers thick lyrics wrapped in a fresh, yet old-school package.
She currently lives in Katy, TX with her husband and four kids. She launched her songwriting in 2018, using years of life experience and musical know-how to quickly propel her in the Houston music scene. In 2019, she recorded her debut EP, entitled “Knots”, at Lucky Run Studios with legendary sound engineer Michael Mikulka. “Knots” is a collection of songs that reflects the challenges, complexities, and unspoken rhythms of relationships, especially in marriage. Selections are featured as the demo for famed Lucky Run Studio in Houston, TX. Goeke also released a music video featuring friend and 2019 Texas Country Music Association’s Emerging Artist Nominee, Alex Coba, in early December 2019. The video of Angie’s original song, “Commitment Down” has received high acclaim for its movie-like story telling. Goeke released a single a month in 2020 on all streaming platforms, despite a pandemic, and can be found on a new limited edition compilation CD, entitled: “That One Song”. She has a new album set for release in 2022, which was recorded in Nashville and produced by Mary Bragg. She was recently included in the Top 3 for Houston Chronicle’s 2020 Best of the Best Musician (sandwiched between Travis Scott and Slim Thug) and a finalist in the 2021 HoustonLive SongFest Songwriters Competition.
“My name is Michael Mikulka. I have been a producer, engineer and studio owner for over 30 years. I am also a 27 year Grammy voter. As such I have seen/worked with a lot of singers. Having said that a I can tell you that Angie is an exceptional singer… not one that comes around that often.”
